A medieval glassmaking centre
Chiddingfold was a centre of English glassmaking from the fourteenth to the seventeenth century, producing window glass supplied for St Stephen's Chapel at Westminster and St George's Chapel at Windsor. The Crown Inn on the green has documented references going back to the fourteenth century, making it one of the older licensed buildings in this part of Surrey.
