Enton Mill was once the subject of a nineteenth-century painting by the artist William Hull, and Enton Hall, which later operated as a health resort, is often cited as an influence on the Shrublands clinic in Ian Fleming's novel Thunderball. The hamlet sits on low-density, dispersed land within the Metropolitan Green Belt.

Enton Green's parish, historically just Witley, was renamed Witley and Milford in 2023, reflecting the two larger settlements it contains, though Enton Green itself remains one of the smaller, more rural hamlets within it.
